How KelpMemo works and how to connect your AI tools.

What KelpMemo is

KelpMemo is a memory layer that sits between you and the AI tools you use every day — Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini. Each tool already remembers things within itself. KelpMemo lets them share what they remember with each other.

How it works

  1. You sign in once with email.
  2. You connect each AI tool via the MCP protocol — paste a URL and token.
  3. Whenever an AI saves a fact (a preference, a project detail, a decision), KelpMemo distills it into a clean atomic memory, embeds it, and stores it.
  4. When another AI asks "what does the user prefer for X?", KelpMemo does a hybrid vector + keyword search, reranks the candidates with an LLM, and returns the most relevant memories.

Connecting an AI tool

Sign in, then go to Connect for step-by-step instructions for Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok.

Privacy

KelpMemo only stores distilled facts, never raw conversation transcripts. Memories are scoped to your account — only you (and the AI tools you explicitly authorize) can read them. PII detected during distillation (emails, phone numbers) is redacted before storage.
