How KelpMemo works and how to connect your AI tools.
What KelpMemo is
KelpMemo is a memory layer that sits between you and the AI tools you use every day — Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini. Each tool already remembers things within itself. KelpMemo lets them share what they remember with each other.
How it works
- You sign in once with email.
- You connect each AI tool via the MCP protocol — paste a URL and token.
- Whenever an AI saves a fact (a preference, a project detail, a decision), KelpMemo distills it into a clean atomic memory, embeds it, and stores it.
- When another AI asks "what does the user prefer for X?", KelpMemo does a hybrid vector + keyword search, reranks the candidates with an LLM, and returns the most relevant memories.
Connecting an AI tool
Sign in, then go to Connect for step-by-step instructions for Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok.
Privacy
KelpMemo only stores distilled facts, never raw conversation transcripts. Memories are scoped to your account — only you (and the AI tools you explicitly authorize) can read them. PII detected during distillation (emails, phone numbers) is redacted before storage.
